Our Kitchen Garden

PLANNED > PLANTED > NURTURED

Just steps from our eatery and Farm Haus accommodation, the Milk Haus Kitchen Garden is where our food story begins. It’s thoughtfully planned, planted, and nurtured to align with our seasonal menus—ensuring that what you see on the plate is deeply rooted in what’s growing just outside our kitchen door.

We follow no-dig gardening practices, allowing nature to lead the way. This regenerative approach protects soil health, supports biodiversity, and honours the delicate balance between our land, bodies, insects, and animals. It's a respectful, mindful way to grow—and we wouldn’t do it any other way.

Our team works with the rhythm of the seasons, picking fresh herbs, vegetables, and edible flowers daily to maintain healthy crop cycles and ensure a sustainable supply for our food service. Everything is harvested with care and intention, contributing to a menu that’s honest, vibrant, and full of flavour.

We’re passionate about growing our own produce for the eatery—not only because it tastes better, but because it connects us (and you) to the land and the food journey from seed to plate.

Guests are welcome to explore our garden surrounds, see what’s growing, and perhaps spot something from your meal thriving in the soil. Watch native birds flutter between branches, bees dancing across blooms, and wildlife enjoying this lush little ecosystem we've created.

We kindly ask:
— No dogs in the garden area
— Children must be supervised at all times
— Please don’t pick or touch the produce

This space is a living, working part of our kitchen—grown specifically for the meals we prepare with love each day.

Thank you for sharing in our garden story.
This is food with roots.

Compost

We compost all our food scraps, garden waste and carbon waste into our own compost located in the top carpark. Our trench compost process enriches our own soil, helping retain moisture and suppress plant diseases and pests. Reduces the need for chemical fertilizers – our garden is fertiliser free and something we are very passionate about. Encourages the production of beneficial bacteria and fungi that break down organic matter to create humus, a rich nutrient-filled material. For us, it starts with soil and that is why our produce tastes so fresh.
